Anxiety can also be derived from uncontrolled depression, ADHD, chronic pain, medical complications, and stress. Common sources of stress include interpersonal situations such as family, divorce, work/career, school/college, adverse passive/aggressive environments, military involvement, financial complications, moving/relocation, or even happy but major life changes.
Dependent on the type of anxiety, intensity and frequency of symptoms and their posed barriers to the individual's living, anxiety can be treated with therapy and often non-addictive psychopharmacological intervention. Cognitive behavioral therapy techniques are an important part of recovery as is diet, exercise, and proper sleep to naturally reduce stress reactions and improve biological brain chemicals that produce a happier more relaxed state of mind.
